Pergamano International In 1987 Martha Ospina and Tiemen Venema introduced Parchment Craft in The Netherlands. Because the required materials for the craft were not available, they started to develop and produce the Parchment craft tools themselves. In 1988 they founded the company Marjo-Arte and introduced the world famous fan for the Pergamano® brand. When the craft was demonstrated on Dutch television the craft got known throughout the country within in a second, thus creating a hype. This hype made the demand for lesson and tutoring in the craft raise significantly, since the craft uses different techniques and tools. Due to this raise Martha decided to tutor some consumers on a high level to become teachers to help meet the demand in lessons and so the Pergamano® registered teacher approach was born. After the successful launch of Pergamano® Parchment Craft in The Netherlands, the craft has been introduced in more then 25 countries around the world. And we are still adding new countries to the list. In 1997 Peter Venema took over the company and expanded it to an international level. He also changed the company name into Pergamano International. From the year 2000 the company is situated in Uithoorn, a stone's throw from Amsterdam. Today the staff is divided in different departments such as; publishing, product development, marketing, teacher network, logistics, administration and financial controlling.
